Lab Hours

Who invented Lab Hours? Honestly? It sucks when you aviod them, and in the last weeks your cramped up and overwhelm of just staring at the computer. I perfer working at home. Thats when my best thoughts come to mind. Sitting here I feel like i dont accomplish anything. Who knows maybe i do. But I just feel like this is some BULLSHIT. Opps excuse my language. well a couple more minutes. Till my classs begins... Till then I will just ponder on how boring this is. :P

Abortion

Abortion
Should irresponsibility be the result of an innocent death? “No” For many years women have been using abortion as a type of birth control. Women sleep with men and do not use protection and think nothing of it. Some have as many as five abortions in their life time. I believe that abortion is a form of murder but in today’s society you are not seen as a killer, since the doctor is the one doing the killing.
Having the opportunity to create a baby is wonderful, something that should be cherish on a woman. Women are the only ones who can bring human beings to life, with help of the male’s sperm. There are so many things to think about in making a hard decision like having an abortion. Some women will always wonder what if, and feel guilty for the rest of her life. It is a life changing decision, and is something that cannot be passed by. Having an abortion comes with many side effects later on in life. There is also an increased risk of breast cancer. Abortions can lessen a woman’s chance of having children later in life. Some women who have abortions often suffer major psychological damage from the experience along.
If a woman decides to keep it, she can give it up for adoption and give the child a chance at life. Couples that are less fortunate to have a child, can get there chance to be parents by raising them. There are many couples who spend years waiting to adopt a child.
If looked at the religious aspect, God gave you the opportunity to have a baby for a reason; you should not throw that chance away. I sometimes wonder when does life really begins. Some religions like Buddhism, Sikhism and Catholicism, teach that life begins when the sperm meets the egg. In the Roman Catholic Church they believe that a fertilized egg is a life with as many rights as a baby, child or adult, and forbids abortion. In other religions, their opinion varies on the morality of abortions. Most religions choose to save the life of the woman even at the cost of the fetus. The Catholics too, will excuse abortion if life saving treatment can be carried out on a woman even if it will result in the death of the fetus. In this case the woman does have a greater right to life than the fetus. Although some religions oppose abortion under all circumstances, many religions recognize the difference that influence a woman’s decision on how to proceed with the pregnancy.
I am against abortion, but when it comes to the situation of having an abortion because of rape, I do believe a woman should be allowed to decide if she should terminate her pregnancy. We do not know how a woman feels when she has been a victim of an act of rape or incest. Pregnancy as a result of either rape or incest is extremely rare, and there is no getting around the fact that pregnancy does occur in some instances. Being a victim of rape can lead to an abortion if pregnant, but it would be more appropriate than a woman raising the child with so much hate.
Life has never been easy for women and children. Society needs to understand that termination of a human being, even if they are not born should never be allowed. In writing this essay it has really made me understand how precious life is and to take that away from someone is not right. It is also amazing to see how some couples struggle to have a baby and our unsuccessful. I truly believe that these couples should have the right to adopt these babies and not let woman destroy them.

Halls of Knowledge

Education is the key to success. By having alternatives in colleges you want to attend, whether it is a university or a community college, you are on the correct path. Community colleges and Universities are quiet different, even though they perform and strive for the same goal. Teaching is what they are set to do.
Community colleges are smaller than Universities, on the contrary Universities are known to be huge and spectacular. Community colleges have fewer students, which allows the teacher and student to interact with one and other. Instead a university has hundreds of students, and each student is hoping they catch every word the instructor has come out with. Community colleges do not offer housing, as opposed to universities they accommodate the students’ needs from wanting to live alone or rooming with their significant other. Spending less money on tuition and books would have to be done at a community college, rather than dumping out your wallet and taking out school loans at a university. These are some quick facts about community colleges and universities that everyone should know. Even though both are set out to acknowledge students, they have their differences. People should take under consideration what is best for them while deciding upon colleges. I know I have made the correct choice in attending a community college. It accommodates my needs. In the future I might consider a university for my

Survey Finds Many Firms Monitor Staff

When dealing with a huge company it is important to have surveillance around at all times with customers and staff. In a working environment it is only common to be watched, cameras may be surrounding the employers’ facilities for security purposes.

The main idea of this particular survey was how employers keep track of their employees. It cannot possibly be called stalking, since it is done for the security prospect; of the job. The research has conducted that 80 percent of major firms routinely check their employees email, internet, or telephone connections, and even sometimes are recorded on tape. Not only is it done for curiosity, but it can clog a company’s telecommunications by personal emails. Downloading from the internet can lead to a hostile environment.

“Researchers have found that companies are more likely to conduct random checks…” The survey also shows that the percentages of employers have increased, 63 percent of the U.S. companies check employees internet connection, while last year only 54 percent did. The increase from last year’s firewall connections installments was 11 percent, (29 percent now 40 percent), to prohibit inappropriate internet usage. People have lost their jobs for inappropriate usage the percentage was 27, where 65 percent of companies disciplined their employees for abusing it. Employees don’t understand that employers have a right, “companies don’t have to inform employees of any monitoring practice”. Therefore beware because your employer can b watching you.

I agree with the survey. It is better to be aware of what employees do on a working schedule. There is a time to work, and a time for personally usage, if your at work then you must work. There are no excuses such as your employer is invading your personal life. This survey makes so much sense, perhaps me working in a casino has a huge affect on my perspective. I am on surveillance at all times and I don’t have a problem with it. I see it as me being secure, if anything is to happen it is on camera. I do not disagree with the survey I fully agree with the topic.

Overall this survey was for people to understand how working environments are a serious thing that should not have to deal with your personal life. People should take this under consideration, and change their views on many activities that takes place during work hours that is not permitted, such as texting for instance. I think surveillance is important if no one is doing it then they should, even if it is for a small business. With this information that I have read I will inform others: family and friends, so that they can be aware.

What can an RN offer?

Being a child with many injuries from scratching up my knee to cracking my head open, I had many visits to the Emergency Room. Being exposed to the hospital abounding times, has clearly giving me a view on what I want to do in life. Of course it is working in a hospital as a Registered Nurse or is also referred as an RN. As I had my visits in a hospital I experience great presence of the health care provider. In doing so, a RN must be driven to their job. A hospital is made up of many people that have degrees in the Medical field; the majority of employees at some hospitals are Registered Nurses. Registered Nurses are the ones behind the scene, they can assists you with many answers to your questions.

Training

Registered Nurses may be educated in three typical ways: a bachelor’s degree, an associate’s degree, and in a hospital-based diploma school. A bachelor’s degree in nursing can be up to 4 years and are offered by colleges and universities. Where an associate’s degree in nursing (ADN), can take anywhere from 2 to 3 years to complete, and is offered by community and junior colleges. The last educational program for nursing is the diploma, it is supervised in hospitals and last about 3 years. With any of the three qualifications you are at subject to get a position as a staff nurse. RNs should be willing to learn since many states and employers require the continuation of educational credits.

All of the nurse programs include classroom guidance and hands on training in hospitals and other clinical offices. All students take courses in anatomy, physiology, microbiology, chemistry, nutrition, psychology and other behavioral sciences. You also must have your requirements for an associate degree in order to get into any nursing program. “You must have critical thinking abilities, and also need to be competent in math and science. It’s very important that you are able to learn and study at a rapid pace, yet still retain the information” (Siehm).

Duties and Working Conditions

The duties that a nurse is opposed to do are to treat patients, educate patients and public about medical issues, and is to provide advice and support to patients family. Sick or healthy a nurse can distribute useful knowledge. A nurse is to accommodate information and the proper usage on medication prescribed by the doctor. An RN works under a doctor and is to do what the doctors’ command is. (“Registered Nurse”)

The working conditions that a nurse must be comfortable with is walking, bending, stretching, and standing for a series of 12 hours or more. An RN also must sacrifice to change their life style, they might be asked to work late night shifts, weekends, and holidays if working within a hospital. A nurse can also be on call, and work in short notice. “Sacrifice plays a big role in the medical field, you must be ready and willing to work at any time”(Halum). Or you can also work at an office, schools, or other healthcare facilities that do not offer 24-hour care, and work regular business days. In a nursing environment it is always best to be in close contact with individuals that have numerous problems. You must expect the unexpected. Other great qualifications are be caring, sympathetic, and responsible. They need emotional stability in case of dealing with a death.

Salary and Benefits

The annual salary of a registered nurse can range anywhere from $43,410-$92,240. The lowest 10 percent can earn $43,410, being a part time RN can vary on how much you get paid. On an average of being a full time RN you can make $62,450. That’s working 3 times a week, 12 hour shifts. There’s RNs that make over $80,000 a year, working overtime is the solution of that cause. There are many employers that are very understanding and are flexible on work schedules. Most healthcares offer full coverage on medical and dental insurance. Bonuses are also a big thing in the medical field. (“Registered Nurse”).

Job Outlook

The job outlook for an RN is to be excellent. It does fall in a 22 percentage of jobs that will be available years from now. According to the new law President Obama passed, the medical field is the best career to get into at this time, but it can vary by the employment branch you’re trying to seek. Registered Nurses are needed in hospitals, community facilities, private homes, nursing homes, schools, industry and in the military (Nursing).

RNs compose 2.6 million jobs and are the largest healthcare occupation (“Registered Nurse”). There will be a rapid employment rage for nurses. It will grow faster than the average. Since the occupation is very large thousands of new jobs will open. Many more jobs will also open to replace retirement nurses or nurses leaving the occupation.

Offices of physicians have a 48 percentage of nurses, and in a hospital it is 17 percent. Employment in hospitals will grow slower, than any other facilities. The insuring care may increase and will require more nurses per patient. However, the medical field is finding ways to release patients earlier than keeping them over night. Having more rooms in a hospital can stop the increase of nurses, which is why the Census has been issued this year, and will evaluate on how important it is for nurses to stick around.

Overall Opinion

My overall opinion from all this informative paper has driven me to get my degree in Nursing. I am now familiar on what to expect from school to working wise. All this gathered statistics can help many people looking into a nursing career. This career has great benefits and provides a manageable salary to live a comfortable life. Having the ability to know that RNs have a great job outlook for years to come, gives me some type of comfort and security. Being able to get hands on training is the best way to go, volunteering is one step closer in getting into this field.
